QD-3066 standard light source is widely used in the color management field of various industries to accurately calibrate the color deviation of products. Different light sources have different radiant energy and will present different colors when illuminating objects.
In the color management of industrial production, although quality inspectors have carefully compared the colors of products, it is difficult to judge the color difference of products due to non-standard ambient light sources or inconsistency with the light sources used by merchants, as colors seen under different light conditions are different. During inspection, merchants may lodge complaints or even return goods because the color difference exceeds the standard range, which seriously affects the company’s reputation.
To effectively solve the above problems, the most effective method is to inspect product colors under the same light source and controllable conditions. In addition to the D65 light source, the standard light source box is also equipped with TL84, CWF, UV, A/F and other light sources, and is capable of testing the metamerism effect.

The illuminance range of light sources is 750 3200 lux.
TL83: European standard warm white store light source, similar to U30 light source of the United States.
CWF / TL84: Some customers require these light sources for color matching. For example, US customers often adopt Cool White Fluorescent (CWF), while European and Japanese customers require Triphosphor Lamp P15 (TL84).
D50: With color temperature of 5000K, it is recognized as the standard color temperature by the global printing industry (ICC standard). It is widely used in printing and pre press publishing fields. Its condition is close to daylight. Colors appear relatively natural, yet changes of yellow ink are hard to detect, so it is more suitable for viewing original manuscripts.
D65: Adopts artificial daylight D65 approved by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). Besides color comparison, D65 is defined as the illumination source for grey scale comparison by most global institutions and organizations.
F/A: Filament lighting, simulates household or hotel room lighting conditions for color evaluation, applicable for color management of underwear, bedding and other products.
UV: Ultraviolet illuminant. Fluorescent and whitening dyes are widely used in modern industrial production. UV light source is optimal for testing such effects. When ultraviolet rays irradiate substances containing fluorescent agents, obvious brightness changes occur, which can be easily identified by naked eyes. It can also supplement the violet light component of D65 light source.
2. Light Source Instructions
Background color and brightness are critical during color‑matching operations. Since color is a subjective perception, comparing colors against different backgrounds will yield different results. Therefore, all background surfaces shall be neutral grey, with reflectance less than one‑third of the incident light.
Record the operating hours for each light source separately. It is recommended to replace the lamps after 2000 working hours to prevent test errors caused by lamp aging.
It supports metamerism effect testing. Metamerism effect means that a sample shows acceptable color under one light source, but presents color difference under another light source; in such case, the sample shall be rejected.
